CLEOPATRA LEE

This was the  first in a series of short mini-documentary style videos focusing on 3 influencer athletes, telling their unique stories in their own words. How they see past their distractions, break barriers and achieve their goals.

Pre-Production

We began by creating a series of questions designed to articulate thier outlook on life and sport and allow us to discover what makes them unique. The athletes filmed their responses to our questions on their phones and sent them back to us. We then took their responses and used them as a basis to craft a narrative that would convey her insights quickly and dovetail into our project objective while maintaining the authenticity and earnestness of their own words. 

We used photos from their instagram feeds to create the mood and storyboards in order to determine what subject mater we wanted to capture as well as to ensure that we did not overly stylize our approach and remained true to the athlete's own personality and aesthetic.

FILMING

We scouted and filmed over the course of 2 days on location in West Harlem, NYC.

Post Production

The product used in filming was a protype. We had to alter the product badging on the lenses in many of the close up scenes. We also had to remove some background product logos that were captured while filming on the streets.
